The Bihar Sanskrit Shiksha Board (BSSB) was established to promote traditional Sanskrit education at Secondary & Senior Secondary levels. With the motto "Education for All," the board provides flexibility in subject choices to help achieve complete literacy.
BSSB offers students absolute freedom in choosing their subjects. Any student who wishes to pursue secondary education under a Sanskrit-based curriculum can enroll.
Minimum age criteria for Secondary (10th) registration is 14 years. Proper certification of birth proof or previous school leaving documents is required.

The Bihar Sanskrit Shiksha Board holds annual examinations in February/March and supplementary exams in August/September based on the syllabus prescribed by the State Government.
